Entrepreneur Scott Crockett, CEO of Everest Business Funding, Describes How to Develop a Growth Mindset

You must be looking for how to develop a growth mindset? People can often find themselves stuck in life, simply chugging along on a hamster wheel instead of improving and growing. Recently, there has been a lot of talk about developing a growth mindset and the benefits of doing so, as entrepreneur Scott Crockett, Founder of Everest Business Funding, says.

This is because it helps people break through feelings of being stuck and helps them achieve long-term goals in all aspects of life. Doing so requires a lot of self-belief and confidence in your abilities and values.

When you’re able to develop a growth mindset, you can step out of your comfort zone and take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to you. That’s why having a growth mindset is so valuable, which Scott Crockett will describe in depth below.

Why a Growth Mindset Matters

When people have a mindset that is described as being “fixed,” they often don’t try to venture out of their comfort zone. The fear of failure — and any associated humiliation or embarrassment that they think might come with it — keeps them “stuck” in their current situation.

The problem with this is that it only adds to the feeling of being stuck. If you aren’t trying something new or venturing out of your comfort zone, how are you supposed to change your current situation?

This is where developing a growth mindset can be powerful. It encourages you to not only take risks but to embrace them and be excited about them.

Look to the Future

One of the biggest delineating aspects of a growth mindset is the focus on the future rather than the continued reflection on the past. This isn’t to say the past doesn’t matter and shouldn’t inform what you do in the future.

What it means is that your focus should always be on what you’re going to do to change your current situation, fix a problem, or overcome a challenge rather than on why you haven’t.

A good way to reinforce this in your mind is to practice using the word “yet.” In other words, it’s not that you haven’t achieved your goal; it’s that you haven’t achieved it yet.

This addition of one word can help you completely change your outlook and approach to things. You can also read about Scott Dylan – Co-Founder of Inc & Co, Investor, Entrepreneur, Business Strategist, and Philanthropist at scottdylan.com

Know You’re Not Perfect

No one is perfect, and no one should attempt to be perfect. Everyone has flaws and imperfections, and that’s what makes us all so special and unique.

Scott Crockett says it’s important to acknowledge that you are imperfect and embrace it as well. This will allow you to celebrate everything that makes you who you are instead of harping on what you may have classified as downfalls in the past.

When you’re able to do this, then you’re able to grow as a human in all aspects. Because you know you aren’t perfect, it’s easier to accept little failures by using what you’ve learned to improve yourself.
